After the huge success of HTC one m8, a gap arose regarding filling the mediocre range of Smartphone in the HTC family line. In order to fill this loop hole HTC launched its very new HTC one mini 2.
This Smartphone had been a success since its launch in May 2014. It has a lot more to offer than its predecessor, the HTC one mini.
The mini 2 is perfect in every dimension and aspect except for what we will be discussing here soon. Since the HTC one mini 2 is a medium range Smartphone, likewise its body dimensions are (5.41 x 2.56 x 0.42 in).
This is a perfect phone in terms of grip and holding and the volume rockers are placed at the side of the phone, however, the power button still rests at the top which might still be awkward for a few small handed people and the phone of this size.
The weight of the phone is 137g which is perfect for its size. The body is more than 60% made of aluminum at the back with plastic antenna lines running horizontally at the top and bottom part.
The design is sleek and beautiful just like its senior m8. The internal specifications of the mini 2 also reflect perfection in the medium range Smartphone’s.
The platform it runs to cope with its hardware is Android OS version 4.4.2 kitkat. The best part in running HTC SENSE UI with mild adjustments is that it runs perfectly smooth with minimum hardware specifications.
The chipset HTC opted to go for is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 and a CPU is the Quad-core1.2 GHz Cortex-A7, which above average, compared to other brand models of the same range. In the graphics department, the GPU Adreno 305 is installed that provides a power boost to handle heavy graphics. These powerful internals aid in the smooth running of android with little or no lags.
Due to these reasons the mini 2 HTC one is praised many reviewers as it stands up top on almost all expectation of users. Since everything is going so perfectly, it should not be forgotten that the display is part of this perfection too.
The display has 16M colors and is a touchscreen capacitive LCD2 adjusted with the 4.5 inches, which covers 62.5% screen to body ratio. That reminds us the color ratio that the display holds is 326 pixels per inch, the same as iPhone 5 and 5s.
The resolution is 720 x1280 enough to brighten up the charm that it shows. The screen is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and is ultra responsive, so it does not skip touches and finger slides. Hence we conclude that the display is a major pro to the HTC one mini 2.
The only thing that one mini 2 lacks is in the camera department. Albeit it has all the pixels for a great picture, still it lacks in producing pictures with the same results as other brands smart phones of its range.
However, the camera in itself is good and compared to its previous models HTC has climbed a step upwards. The rear camera is a 13 megapixel autofocus with dual LED flash. The secondary or camera is 5 megapixels.
All in all, we cannot conclude to betray all other specs in response to the camera alone. HTC is a great phone and still rules over all others of its range.
