Motorola Moto G 2nd-gen

The second generation of the Motorola mobiles is also called the Moto G. These are Android Smart phones and were released on 5th September 2014. This phone was launched to cater the low purchasing power customer class. Moto 360 and Moto Hint are 2 other Smart phones launched in the same row with the Moto G.

Motorola Moto G 2nd-gen review The Moto G was available for $180 at the start of its launch. In that version it did not had the 8GB memory add-on. The sale started in India soon after it’s launched.

The online selling response for the Moto G is also exceptional. When we look down into the model variants of the Moto G, we find 5 of them ranging in single and dual SIM categories. Some models are also supporting the TV facility. Looking into the hardware specs of the Moto G, we see that it’s a 5 inch HD LCD screened mobile.

The front screen is coated with the Gorilla glass. Google has fit in its Android 4.4 Kit Kat version inside the Moto G. Moto G is a phone for fast paced environment.

As a result it is supported with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad core processor, further clocked at 1.2 GHz. 1GB RAM gives its processing a firm push as well. Moto G comprises of a splash proof coating. It can avoid basic jumps and bumps very easily.

The curvy body of the Moto G with its stereo speakers makes it a heroic phone for youngsters. Music lovers got a treat when it was announced that Moto G will be available with 16GB internal memory as well. The memory card is extendable to 32GB easily as well.

You upload playlists as long as your phone stays up. Moto G is a 3G enabled phone only. So it’s a bad news for 4G lovers in this case. The battery is 2070mAh which is not bad for a speaker phone. It can easily last you 2 days. The back camera is 8 MP with the front one being 2 MP. The phone is available in 2 colors, white and black.

The rear cover can be interchanged with different color options you select. Moto G is the family friend of the other Motorola brands Moto X and Moto E. They may look similar but they have different features altogether. Sadly, the Moto G do not offer features such as active notifications, quick capture and touch less control.

May be the company though that these features can be compromised in order to keep the phone cost low. Moto G phones can be customized online as well using the Moto Maker feature. Motorola promises that soon after the launch of Android Lollypop version, Moto G can be upgraded easily towards it.

The firmware updates for Moto G are available since November 2014. In regard of official accessories available in the market for Moto G, we can replaceable Back covers and Flip Covers. Overall it can be concluded that most of the reviews for Moto G have been on the positive side.
