Nokia Lumia 928

The result of a long standing partnership between Nokia and Microsoft came to light in the November of 2011, with the introduction of Lumia series. While in March of 2013 came the addition to the Lumia family of the Nokia Lumia 928.

It is a version of Lumia 920 exclusive to the U.S carrier Verizon. Bearing dimensions of 133 x 68.9 x 10.1 mm with a weight of 162 g. The phone is not much unlike the original Nokia Lumia 920.

Its features of 768 x 1280 pixels (~332 ppi pixel density) 4.5 inch screen, a Snapdragon chipset paired with a Dual-core 1.5 Nokia Lumia 928 reviewsGHz Krait CPU and an Adreno 225 GPU make is a set worth looking at.

While without a memory card slot it offers 32GB of internal stories was done in order to compensate the low 1GB of RAM. Tying all this together Nokia wanted to launch Microsoft windows 8 OS in a new creative way.

The set also offered an upgrade to Windows 8.1. The phone comes with an HD 8 mega pixels rear facing camera with optics by Carl Zeiss and a 1.3 megapixels front-facing HD camera. However, the phone is only available in two colors, namely black and white. The power source is a 2000mAh Li-Ion non removable battery.

The battery power is not so bad and we cannot say that exceptional either. It’s in the middle. The phone also has wireless charging capability making it easier for uses to charge while on the go. This is a unique feature and not many sets offer it.

This set also offers an active noise cancellation feature for clearer voice recognition. Exclusive to the Lumia series is Microsoft Cortana, which is essentially a voice activated personal assistant, a feature fans of the Halo games series from Microsoft will definitely be appreciated.

This assistant is more than a simple voice control mechanism it has more of a personality similar to the in-game Cortana. Furthermore this phone is a slight step up from the Lumia 920, if not much. It offers a slew of minute additions all the while being lighter.

It now offers 50% greater standby time, 19% more music playback and is 3G optimized offering 60% more talk time on 3G. This was made possible due to the use of an AMOLED touch screen and a newer battery type with saved power considerably.

The addition of a sensor to aid in focusing and a xenon flash to the camera does improve picture quality, especially when the flash is used in dark settings. Both the phone and the OS have a minimalistic design which is appealing to some users.

However lack of availability of applications and a heftier price tag might make it an undesirable buy. All in all whether you are a Verizon user thinking to upgrade to a Lumia device or just wanting to purchase a Lumia, it is sure that you will get an array of perks over the average Lumia customer with this purchase.
