Launched in September 2011, Nokia N9 is one of the smart phones that drop under the category of sleeked mobiles. At the time, Nokia was having a hard time competing with Smartphone giants such as the Samsung and Apple.
With immense pressure in the field of technology, Nokia released a phone which was fast, yet surprisingly beautiful. Nokia N9 is surrounded with curved plastic and has been given a premium feel to it. The design is sleek and sharp and gives a firm grip.
Nokia N9 has overall dimensions of (4.59 x 2.41 x 0.48 in) which was quite a slim phone judging by the generation and year it was released in. Apart from the dimensions, the weight of the N9 is 135g, which is ideal in terms of size and grip.
The display size that the N9 holds in contrast to the dimensions is 3.9 inch, a mere more than iPhone 4 and 4S. The display to body ratio is 58.8% the rest is pure plastic feel.
Hence all this gives N9 the impossibilities to slip. Talking about the display; the screen resolution is mind wobbling with a pixel density of 251 pixels per inch. The 480 x 854 resolution looks stunning with accurate contrasts ratios, proper color saturation and gives a vibrant feel.
The screen is an AMOLED capacitive touch screen, with 16M colors and is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass. The display also has an anti-glare polarizer, fixed, reduce glare and reduce light reflection in outdoor conditions.
To my view, the display is one of the high ends of that time and created hype. With an epic display and screen features it would be oblivious to brag about the internals and performance of the Nokia N9. The Handling system is a MeeGo OS version 1.2 Harmattan, this operating system was more powerful than the traditional Symbian platform.
The Chipset installed in the hardware department is a TI OMAP 3630 and the CPU is a 1 GHz with Cortex A8. The graphics are powered by the PowerVR SGX530 GPU chipset. The Nokia N9 is no less than a modern everyday Smartphone in the present generation in terms of performance and outcome. Now, to review the camera which the most important part of a Smartphone that amplifies the charm of a must buy.
The Nokia N9 holds an 8 megapixel rear camera but no front facing camera, which seems the only trait holding N9 from perfection. The camera comes with Carl Zeiss optics which are popular for picture quality and with a doubt Nokia has made one of the best Cameras in Smartphone’s in the recent years which is hard to beat.
At the rear back of the phone, there is a dual LED flash that works with autofocus to produce great image quality. All in all the Nokia N9 is a great phone in both ways, visually and internally. It gives a stellar performance and displays how every aspect of the picture should be. It is one of the best phones in its range that has diversity and good looks combined.
